At Franklin Law, we understand that a product-related accident can cause extreme pain and prolonged suffering. By filing a product liability lawsuit, you may be able to recover an award for damages that takes into account any pain and suffering that you endured.

A product liability lawsuit gives consumers who are harmed by defective products a remedy for their injuries and other losses. By filing a product liability lawsuit, a consumer may be able to recover damages to compensate them for their injuries.

The cost of treating injuries or an illness caused by a defective product can be very high. If you incurred hospital bills or paid for medical treatment after an injury due to a dangerous product, you should speak with a product liability lawyer right away.

If you file a product liability lawsuit and the court rules in your favor, you may be compensated for other losses. This includes lost wages, as well as the amount by which your overall earning capacity has been diminished.

Franklin Law has been instrumental in helping clients and other law firms in a variety of high-exposure cases. Rebecca Franklin Harris often partners with other firms to add value in important cases. In doing so, she is able to bring to the table experience and expertise in many areas of complex litigation – either at the outset of the case or at the last minute when the case is headed to trial. Below are just a few examples illustrating the wide variety of complex litigation handled by Rebecca Franklin Harris.

State of Georgia Opioid Litigation

Franklin law currently serves as outside-counsel to Attorney General Chris Carr in the State of Georgia’s opioid litigation against opioid manufacturers and distributors for their role in the opioid crisis. Rebecca has helped secure more than $850 million in settlements for the State.

Kolstedt v. TMX Finance Corporate Services, Inc.

Franklin Law represents members of a proposed class of consumers arising out of data breach against TMX Finance, parent company of TitleMax – a company that extends consumer loans secured by the titles to borrowers’ vehicles.  Rebecca serves as the Chair of the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee in the ongoing litigation.

Jones v. CSX Transportation et al

Franklin Law helped secure an $11.2 million verdict in a case arising out of the death of a camera assistant after being struck by a train while working on the set of a film titled Midnight Rider, which was based on the life of iconic musician Greg Allman. The verdict was instrumental in exposing issues with safety on film sets.

Chhetri v. Michelin North America et al

Franklin Law helped secure a $16.5 million verdict against Michelin North America based on a defective tire design which caused a large passenger van to overturn resulting in the death of one passenger and multiple serious injuries. The jury awarded the widow of the man who was killed both compensatory and punitive damages based on Plaintiff’s claim that Michelin should have known that the tire was defective and dangerous.

Desmond v. Narconon

Franklin Law has unique experience in exposing dangerous practices relating to addiction recovery. Franklin Law was part of the team representing the family of a man who died after being allowed to consume alcohol and opiates while enrolled in a Georgia drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. Unbeknownst to the Plaintiffs, the facility had repeatedly been cited by the State of Georgia for violations of health regulations and was not licensed as a residential facility despite its representations to the public. During the litigation, the trial court severely sanctioned the facility, finding that the rehabilitation center had provided false and misleading discovery responses and deposition testimony. Because of what was uncovered in discovery and the case’s publicity, the rehabilitation center’s license was ultimately revoked by the State of Georgia.

Mundy v. Ford Motor Company et al

Franklin Law helped secure a $40 million verdict on behalf of a woman who was paralyzed after her Ford Explorer unexpectedly shifted from park to reverse as she was stepping back into her vehicle after dropping off mail at a post office. Rebecca uncovered hundreds of other similar incidents where customers complained of a Ford Explorer suddenly shifting out of the “park” position. The verdict included a large sum for punitive damages to punish Ford Motor Company for knowing about the danger in its vehicles and failing to remedy the defect.
